A native Texan, Scott Peterson works out of his home studio in Burleson.  Scott has a full time job of 20 years as a professional photographer; he spends his leisure - playing artist.  With no formal training or schooling in the arts, he is not limited to the standard rules.  Anything goes is the general attitude.  Scott has recently discovered glass; creating anything from small jewelry to large sculptures.  “It is the perfect material; you can cut, saw, bend, smash, melt, break, sandblast, fuse, etch and paint with glass. What more could a guy ask for!”

In January of 2005, I discovered the pleasure of working with glass; falling in love with the vibrant colors and unlimited textures.  I always allow it to take its own form; I am able to finish with a piece, that is not only contemporary, but also pleasingly organic. Some projects which lend themselves to a second medium will be encased with the boldness and strength of steel.  I am fascinated with plants, wildlife, rocks, water, the stars, but mostly the moon.  It was no surprise that my work has turned out to be an exploration and appreciation for the diverse beauty I find in nature. This is way too much fun, can you imagine getting paid to do something you love, and something you would be doing anyway?  So I hope that my work is affordable to anyone who admires it; it gives me great pleasure knowing that maybe I have brought a little extra beauty into someone’s life.
